  "Marketing in Uncertain Times"

AMA Special Interest Groups- Marketing Planning

Marketing planning is about creating a big picture plan for the future. And a reality of business planning cycles is that marketers regularly need to plan activity 12-18 months out.

But today it can seem like we don't know what the next few weeks will hold. With the marketplace today constantly shifting - from the economy to the media landscape - how do you balance the need to map out the future with the reality of not knowing what it will look like?

This event, brought to you by the American Marketing Association's Marketing Planning Special Interest Group, will feature a panel of leading marketers from different viewpoints - agencies, clients, and media companies - discussing how they're seeing budgets shift and planning processes adapt.

We'll discuss:

  • Strategies for managing ambiguity and uncertainty
  • How budgets are changing
  • How are client, agency, and media company relationships adapting
  • Whether planning time horizons are changing

Following the panel discussion, there will be cocktails and networking to meet other marketers and share perspectives on how we are all adapting our approaches to strategic planning given the massive shifts in the economic & media landscapes. Ask questions, share insights and network with other marketers.

The Panelists

  • Louise Clements - Head of Sales, Facebook Canada
  • Christina Raheja - Manager, Promotions & Sponsorships, Kraft Canada
  • Mike Lambe - Director, Key Account Management - Rogers Media-Publishing
  • Caroline Medwell - VP of Sales, Transcontinental Media.
  • Dino Demopolous - Engagement Planner, BBDO Canada
